I Believe Speech Delivery

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4QuL2Oym64&ab_channel=SooyoungChoi

To be honest, I think this "I Believe" project was really helpful to look back at on my life to think of interesting topic that I want to share. At first place, I had totally different topic in my mind but I changed to story with T.J Warren at last. Basically the biggest struggle through this project was that I needed to write whole new speech in a week. I was very familiar with the topic and what I am going to write about but it is always hard to put everything into words, especially for me, not native English speaker. However I think I did fine in overall, putting the main massage of my speech well, staying humble and work hard for the others. I think I did quite solid job on delivering the massage.

The first thing I struggled most about the writing the speech was coming out with the better method of spreading my massage. My speech had one story and the main massage and theme of the whole speech comes out from that story. It was the matter of how I am going to word his massage and the method of strengthen his massage. So I came up with an idea of putting my own reflection of the massage. It was not that hard to put in because his massage actually effected a lot on my life therefore I was able to express my opinion on his massage pretty well. It is kinda true that I came out with different style of appreciation of life than T.J Warren but I thought the overall massage is same. Therefore I putted my reflection of his massage and I think that strengthen the power of his massage pretty well, which making the whole speech to be much stronger.

The second thing I spent lots of time on it was how I am going to have good ending. This speech is talking about one of the most effective massage in my life, which changed view point of my life. I brainstormed how I am going to put it and came up with a thought that T.J Warren would not remember me. I was just a kid from his old school who was interested in listening some life stories of him. I think it was very reasonable to think that he will not remember meeting me. Throughout that thought I came out with a ending that imagining he will not but if I have a chance to meet him in person I will be thanking him for teaching me that great lesson I will never forget in my life. That ends up my essay with huge ending which helped me to leave last strong impression of my whole essay.

This "I Believe" speech helped me to have lots of thinkings of my life, thinking back about my past and some massages I want to deliver to others. I think I've lived quite unique life, which gives me lots of ideas about what I want to talk about. I am really satisfied about what I talked about and hope my speech can help some of others to look into their life in different way.

Final Project: I believe Speech.

Everyone has lucky moment to meet someone unexpected and get impressed by him or her. Mine was very special and he taught me great lessons. I want to talk about that.

When I was junior in old school, Brewster Academy, I was in second varsity basketball team. We had practice on Saturday morning so I went to dinning hall to get something to eat before practice. At there I saw tall African-American guy talking to someone and I've never seen neither of them. I somehow came up with guess that tall guy might be basketball player so I searched few alumni from our school and found out that guy was T.J Warren. T.J Warren, starting small forward for Phenix Suns, who graduated Brewster in 2012. He was one of the most famous basketball alumni from our school. His jersey was hanging on the wall of athletic building. I went to talk to him because I was so surprised to see him. I asked him if he is actual T.J Warren and he said yes.

After I had little chat with T.J Warren, I went to gym for the practice. During our practice, T.J Warren showed up to gym to look his jersey on the wall. We all saw him and everyone was excited to see him. We all went to talk to him and he recognised me. He volunteered to teach us some basketball skills and it was really helpful. The fact active NBA player teaching us some skills were incredible and everyone was working hard to learn as much as we can.

After that session, fortunately I sat down with him in lunch table. He was first NBA player I've ever seen so I had so many questions to him. I asked him how he motivate himself in daily basis and his response inspired me so much. He said "When I wake up in the morning, I thank god that I came this far. I was just normal kid and now I am living my dream life. I stay humble that not many people even made this far. I motivate myself that so many people sacrificed their dreams and life to help me to get here. I play for them and achieve their dream for them. I still have so many dreams to achieve so I cannot stop." That was not a something I never thought about.

Staying humble and fighting to accomplish others' goal who sacrificed their dreams and life for you. I never done anything like that. I always lived selfish life, doing what I want to do. However I did not put my effort in to achieve others' goal. My parents and whole family have their own wishes and expectations on me and I never fulfilled their dreams on me.

What T.J Warren said woke my spirit up and motivated me that I should thank people who cares and loves me and pay them back with my best effort and result. I picked up his words and made it to mine.

Every morning I thank god to give me this lucky life. After that I do my work with my best effort. I try to put my best effort on everything but that is really hard to me so I focus on putting enough effort I would not regret about it in the future.

I do not think T.J Warren still remembers me because it had been about a year ago when he met me. However if I have chance to meet him again in the future, I want to thank him for teaching me great life lesson.

Final Projection Reflection

how is your final project coming along? Where are you with it, what are you doing well, what do you need to do to improve? 300 words

My final project's topic is "A Day With TJ Warren". TJ Warren is NBA player who graduated my old school, Brewster Academy. My story goes along through the morning to evening. It talks about TJ Warren's personal and his advices to me. I already have structured outline about what I will write and what kinds of massages I will include. To be honest I recently changed my topic therefore I need to start writing new speech so I have not started to writing it yet. However I will be fine with writing it because I already have perfect outline about what I am going to write.

I think I am doing well about organising what massages will be included and planning how the speech will come out. I have very unique story that average asian kid would not easily experience also TJ Warren is not that much popular player in NBA therefore not many people recognised him.  Even at that situation I was the first one who recognise him and because of that I stood out to him. That helped me to have very special time with him and his different attitude and words on me. TJ Warren was very humble and kind person who was giving me lots of advices about basketball and life specially about how should I prepare myself to put my best effort on something I want to success and what kind of attitude I should have toward my eagerness.

I need to start writing the speech, that is something I need to improve on. I only have outline on what I am going to write but in the actual speech, my limitation on English might be struggle that I will face. However that is something I have been living with therefore I always have been willing to improve it. I am more than welcome to face that challenge to improve my English. It will help my essay in overall.

I belive reflection

I read two speeches, one by Baran and one by Ben Buchmeier. They had different topics and I found Baran's speech more interesting because he talked about how much strrugles he went through when he first moved to United States. It was a topic that I have full understanding on so I was definitely able to put myslef into it and share the emotion and ideas of it. I think it was really good that his sentences were very clear and easily worded. He usedeasy terms and short sentences to provide much clear explanation of his experience. In both essays, by Baran and Ben, they both had short funny stories to strongly emphasize their theme of the essay. Ithink I can try to adapt that skills to use in my essay

The on thing I did not likefrom both essays were that their massages were not that strong. Baran's one was story and Ben's one was thanking Cheshire Academy. If they had clear massage on what they actuall believe through their experience, their essays will be much stronger.

I Believe Proposal

To be honest I have belief in lots of things, such as my family, parents, myself, failure, challenge or even soccer. So it is very hard to choose one thing I can deliver speech about what I believe. I looked in self of me and found out I have huge belief on myself. It is not about my background or how I grew up as child, it's about how I can make changes in my life or bigger scale. I always wanted be someone who is powerful and really effective on society or anywhere. Sports stars can be one, they influence lots of young kids, motivate them to be as them. If you ask any rookies in professional about their influence or motivation on their sports, I think most of them will name you glorious players who passed through that league. Politicians, businessmen, coaches and elders can be person like that too. However I want to be someone like them but in my own way.

When I was really young, I was inspired from Julius Caesar, the Roman emperor. I had big interest in history and I always had my interest on Roman, even I am not Italian. He was really responsible and ambitious man. He was on charge of army and his soldiers were willing to die for him. They all followed him when he was making the coup. That is incredible, that inspiring group of people who will fight for you and always stand for you.  I wanted to be like him, responsible and ambitious guy. That was my first lesson I took. how to be responsible like him. I tried to become a leader like him. He was one of the greatest leader of all-time. I tried to be like him but I was not fully powerful as him at first. As time passes through I started learning how to inspire people with words and action. That is me, who always trying to pick up greatest from others to create my own great.
